The Directorate is responsible for guiding technical and vocational institutions by establishing, promoting, and maintaining approved academic quality standards.
The Directorate is divided into two (2) Sections as follows:
Registration and Accreditation Section
The main functions of the section include the coordination of activities of Subject Boards, registering and accrediting technical institutions and vocational training centers capable of delivering courses; and registering technical and vocational teachers and other qualified technicians. The Section is also responsible for assisting technical institutions in their development by introducing and developing policies and procedures that will allow institutions to attain greater autonomy in the delivery of courses.
Labour Market Analysis and Curriculum Development Section
The main functions of the section include assisting technical institutions and vocational training centres in the transmission of knowledge, principles and training in the field of technical and vocational education and training, assisting technical institutions and vocational training centres in the overall development of the quality of education they provide; to promote, and to maintain approved academic standards.
